GEORGE NEWS - Pine Lodge Resort, a landmark business in George, is being sold via public auction on site on Friday 27 November.
Daniël van Schalkwyk of Van Rensburgs Auctions says the sale has been authorised by the owners.
Pine Lodge was developed in the early eighties by a consortium of investors of which the late John Mitchell was a member.
Speaking on behalf of the owners, Van Schalkwyk said, "Mr Mitchell was influential in the running of the business on a daily basis until he sadly passed away a couple of years ago."
The property is situated on 21 875m² of land along Knysna Road.
The buildings include 46 chalets, four conference facilities, a restaurant and bar area, kitchen, administration offices, laundry room, braai room and outside deck area, tennis court and swimming pool.
"At this stage we are very happy and excited about the results of the extensive and dedicated advertising campaign that was launched about three weeks ago. Pine Lodge is a superb property with a fantastic location that offers various exciting opportunities to each and every investor out there," said Van Schalkwyk.
The auction will start at 12:00.
