GEORGE NEWS - George officials of the Department of Corporate Services are keenly anticipating the appointment of a new director. Although it's too early for an official announcement, George Council are all in favour of the appointment of Siphiwo James, the current acting director.
Feedback on the selection panel's report for the appointment of a director in Corporate Services was listed as a confidential item on Council's agenda at the last meeting.
Municipal spokesperson Chantel Edwards-Klose said the director's position for Corporate Services cannot be announced at this time, as there are "a number of processes to be followed before the appointment is finalised".
She said the directors' positions for the departments of Electro-Technical and Planning are currently in the short-listing process.
