GEORGE NEWS - One of two Covid-19 patients who had been admitted to the Mediclinic George in May passed away this afternoon. The patient had been in the ICU.
George has now recorded four Covid-19 deaths. To date, eight people have succumbed to the disease in the Garden Route.
Hospital Manager Kassie Karstens said they have admitted another patient with Covid-19 symptoms today, who is being treated in the ICU.
The recorded number of cases in the Garden Route District as at 13:00 today, 11 June, is 310.
The recorded figures for the towns are as follows:
- George 124 (60 recoveries),
- Knysna 85 (56 recoveries),
- Oudtshoorn 18 (10 recoveries),
- Mossel Bay 48 (29 recoveries),
- Bitou 16 (15 recoveries),
- Hessequa 17 (11 recoveries) and
- Kannaland 2 (2 recoveries).
