GEORGE NEWS - Local trainees in the film and TV industry received their MICT Seta accredited certificates from iKasi Media on Saturday afternoon, 22 June.
During the graduation ceremony at the Oakhurst Insurance George Arts Theatre, 22 trainees from across the district were awarded certificates for completing a three-month programme introducing them to the world of film and television production.
"Learners from across the district attended the ceremony, as well as representatives of the Garden Route District Municipality, Natalie Raubenheimer, Johannes Jafta, Angeline Naidoo and the chairman of the Garden Route Film Office, Phillip de Vries," said Lika Berning, director of iKasi Media. "The families of the learners were there in support and the audience's response to the learner productions was amazing."
iKasi Media is a non-profit production and training organisation.
Its objectives are to boost local economic development in the district through skills training in the film and television industry.
