Members of the Southern Cape Police, as well as other sister departments came together to combat this scourge in our country.
Booi said gangsterism is a social problem. "We cannot allow a cancer like gangsterism to take over our communities. We need full commitment from everyone."
Magadien Wentzel (54), from Manenburg in Cape Town, an ex-gangster, said it is foolish of the youth to believe that gangsterism would give them a better life.
"Youngsters think they are cool and clever when they get involved in gangs, but there is no life for them with gangsterism."
