"The DA will take the province again, as we have ensured service delivery and we will continue to keep up the good work." He cited the recently launched project, which provides employment to the Men on the side of the Road organisation as being an example of good governance.
"The George Municipality will be making a visible difference to the lives of these unemployed men while at the same time eradicating alien vegetation in four river courses." He added four different municipal departments would be involved as well as the Working for Water organisation.
Quiet
It was all quiet as voters lined up to vote at the voting stations sited in the Masonic Hall and the George Civic Centre (Ward 19) with no music blaring away or anyone taking a few dance steps. According to Mohamed-Salie Carelse (DA captain in charge), there had only been two incidents at the civic centre with two voters being asked to leave the hall. In the one incident an EFF representative had been wandering in and out of the hall, which is against all regulations. At the civic centre a total of 476 people had already voted by 10:30.
