GEORGE NEWS - George Municipality Cleansing department and Environmental educators from the Garden Route District Municipality held a clean-up along the N2 in the Rosedale area on Friday, November 13th as part of the ongoing Illegal Dumping awareness campaign.
The group cleaned the area during to the morning until around 13h00. The department provided everyone assisting with gloves, face masks and sanitiser.
Following complaints of illegal dumping along the N2, the team decided to host a clean-up campaign and at the same time run awareness as to why people should not dump in their neighbourhoods.
The environmental educators moved between the homes to educate locals about illegal dumping and the dangers around it.
