GEORGE NEWS - In the true spirit of Madiba Day, George Child and Family Welfare led a heart-warming initiative at its premises in Nelson Mandela Boulevard this morning by making 2 210 sandwiches to distribute to children in and around George.
The initiative received generous support from Moore Southern Cape, who contributed an additional 200 sandwiches, and from several local businesses and institutions who rolled up their sleeves to help prepare the meals.
Teams from Sixbar Trading, George Herald, Immploy Recruitment, Moore Southern Cape Inc, South Cape College and SMEC South Africa all got involved, offering both donations and their time.
Fancourt extended the effort by donating 65 meals to the Blanco Crèche and 50 meals to the cluster foster homes, while Badger Soft Landings added nutritional value with a donation of soya packs and NQtac Hotel and Hospitality donated soup.
