GEORGE NEWS - Easter Sunday ended on a tragic note for Life Community Services (LCS), with a break-in at their premises in Zone 1, Thembalethu.
The centre was ransacked, and clothing, laundry items and toys to the value of about R2 500 were stolen. LCS also suffered a severe blow last year in June with two break-ins at their property in Golf Street, Parkdene.
Life's CEO Maryna De Vries said they were alerted about the incident in Thembalethu on Sunday afternoon.
"It is a tragedy, we are devastated! The door is totally ripped off and the window is ripped out." she said. The centre has been running pre-school and afternoon programmes for children from the community for the last 18 years.
