GEORGE NEWS - A manhunt has been launched after a visitor to George was allegedly hijacked in the CBD earlier this morning, Monday 15 August at approximately 10:00.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Capt Malcolm Pojie, preliminary investigation indicates that the victim, who was departing from a guest house in Gloucester Avenue, was loading his luggage into his vehicle when a firearm was drawn on him.
“He saw five suspicious men standing around him who were speaking in an African language. One of the suspects took his bag and the other his car keys. They all got into the car and drove away," said Pojie.
No arrests have been made and the vehicle, a silver Toyota Corolla with registration number CA 278622, has not been recovered.
