GEORGE NEWS - A jolly tea party was held to celebrate Bergville Retirement Village's 20th birthday. 

The wintry weather did not deter village residents, who gathered on 22 August to celebrate their anniversary. 

"Among the attendees we were glad to see one of our oldest residents, Jean Tindall, who turns 94 next month," said one of the organisers, Ann Greening. 

Bergville residents are a friendly, well-knit community. It was in that community spirit that a group of residents got together to organise the celebration. 

The buffet tables were decorated on a fynbos theme, and were laden with an array of delicious snacks. 

"The stars of the buffet were two cakes, iced to suit the occasion by our talented baker and icing artist, Betty Dickson. 

Betty Dickson's cakes added a festive touch to the birthday party.

Thank you to Rentia Venter, a friend of Bergville, who was responsible for the charming décor that contributed to the success of the event," said Greening.
