GEORGE NEWS - There are reports of several incidents where trees were uprooted by strong winds during the night.
At 05:00 this morning George Fire Brigade was busy removing a fallen tree at Outeniqua Proefplaas and busy containing a fire in that area.
Debra Sauer, communication officer of George Municipality, said their staff are busy removing several fallen branches on roads all over George.
"We are aware of various power outages in George and surrounds due to high winds.
Electricians are working on the problems and updates will be provided."

Weather and emergency update from George Municipality
Emergency Services are on high alert as we are expecting high winds to continue with speeds of up to 60km per hour until midday. Expected rainfall from 13:00 until 18:00.
The George Fire Brigade remains on standby and is attending to incidents.
Emergency personnel are attending to trees that fell over in Wilderness Heights,
Taaibos Lane, Erica Road and Seven Passes. As well as Darling Street (close to the train tracks), the R404 towards Herold's Bay and Oewer Street.
Our electrical teams are also working on various power outages in George and surrounds.
