GEORGE NEWS - Two people died and seven escaped with minor to moderate injuries after an accident on the Outeniqua Pass involving two cars and a bakkie earlier this afternoon, Thursday 14 April.
According to initial information, all the vehicles were traveling towards George when the accident occurred. Exact details surrounding the accident still has to be confirmed.
The two deceased were declared dead on scene by paramedics, while one person from the same vehicle had to be rescued using the Jaws of Life. He was taken to hospital by ER24 paramedics.
The other occupant sustained moderate injuries and was taken to hospital by Metro Ambulance Services.
A family of four were also amongst the injured who were hospitalised. The driver of the bakkie did not sustain any injuries.
One lane of the pass is open for traffic with a stop and go system in place.
