GEORGE NEWS - Two suspected copper cable thieves, aged 33 and 34, were arrested by members of the rural flying squad on the N2 near the turn-off to Victoria Bay on Thursday 28 April.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Sgt Chris Spies, they were conducting vehicle patrols when the two suspiciously acting men were spotted.
“The vigilant members approached the men and found 23,1kg of copper cables in their possession. The suspects were unable to account for the possession of the cables and both were arrested on a charge possession of suspected stolen cables,” said Spies.
The suspects are expected to appear in the George Magistrate’s Court once charged.
