GEORGE NEWS - There are nimble fingers and no idle hands in the Creativity Group at Genevafontein Retirement Village in George. Steve Jobs said that creativity is just connecting things. The beautiful blankets created by the group prove what can be done with some balls of wool.
There are also a number of women in the village who make much-needed items for charitable causes.
The knitting needles are therefore never idle. Once a month a group of women get together in the lounge and draw inspiration and ideas from each other, said Heléne Grobler, the organiser.
Minke du Plessis, who plays by ear, provides soothing background accompaniment.
