GEORGE | OUDTSHOORN NEWS - An accident in the Outeniqua Pass claimed the life of a 58-year-old woman from Dysselsdorp (Oudtshoorn).
The accident took place on Friday night at around about 20:38.
Sergeant Michael Opperman, a spokesperson for George police, says it is alleged that a White Nissan bakkie travelling from George to Dysselsdorp, lost control and overturned due to wet and misty weather in the Outeniqua Pass.
According to Opperman, only one vehicle was involved.
He said the driver was a 26-year-old male from Dysseldorp. He added that 6 people were seriously injured and 5 suffered minor injuries.
Metro ambulance service was on the scene, giving medical assistance and taking patients to George Hospital.
Opperman says a case of culpable homicide was opened and is still under investigation by Sergeant L Ndwenkuku.
