GEORGE NEWS - Throughout the year, Georgians from all walks of life voted for their top citizen of the month to select the 10 finalists who would ultimately stand a chance of being named the 2019 George Citizen of the Year.
That time has arrived!
Georgians now have the difficult task of voting for the monthly winner who stands out in this select group.
Which of these 10 individuals deserves to scoop the George Citizen of the Year award?
The search for the most caring and diligent citizen was started by Mikaila Hendrikz of the civilian association, We Are George, and Sean Snyman of George Lions, with the support of George Herald and the Facebook groups Georgiete Staan Saam and Lokasie Staan Saam.
Every month from January to October, Georgians nominated and voted for their top Citizen of the Month.
Every one of the 10 monthly winners is passionate about his or her community efforts and works tirelessly to make a positive difference in George and surrounds. So, to choose one outstanding individual out of the top 10 will be a real challenge.
The winner will be announced at the George Lights Festival on 14 December in Unity Park, York Street.
