GEORGE NEWS - Emergency services are on the scene at Voëlklip where a search and rescue operation commenced earlier today.

According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Sgt Chris Spies, information available at this stage indicates that a vehicle went over a cliff on the Voëlklip road last night at about 19:00.

"A search and rescue team consisting of police, EMS search and rescue, George Municipality Fire Department, NSRI, pathology services, Wilderness Search and Rescue and police divers was established. The team commenced with a search and rescue operation, which is still underway," he said.
