GEORGE NEWS - A vehicle was set alight in 13th Street in Thembalethu in the early hours of this morning.
According to an eyewitness, the vehicle was stopped near All Bricks in Zone 8 before the driver was forced out of the vehicle. He however managed to escape unharmed.
Police confirmed that the incident occurred between 03:00 and 04:00.
The vehicle belongs to a security company.
A group of men also tried to stop a truck that was travelling in the direction of Wilderness on the N2 highway. It is alleged that the men threw a petrol bomb at the truck but that the driver drove off unharmed.
Little information about the incidents is available at this time.
“At this stage it is unclear who is responsible for this morning’s incidents. We are investigating all possibilities,” said the police.
