Update
GEORGE NEWS - The man accused of the kidnapping and premeditated murder of the eight-year-old Imange Jantjies from Thembalethu, has just been found guilty on both charges in the George Circuit High Court.
During his judgement, Judge Derek Wille said that evidence brought before the court proved beyond any reasonable doubt that Nqoko, who was dating the child's mother, Annelisiwe Jantjies, at that stage, brutally murdered him in revenge after his mother ended the relationship with Nqoko.
Wille also said that Nqoko's various versions of events were inconsistent and highly unlikely.
The boy's body was found in Nqoko's shack on 19 August 2021, on the same day that Jantjies left him. He had 29 stab wounds to the side of his neck.
Sentencing proceedings will start tomorrow morning.
