GEORGE NEWS - The University of the Third Age (U3A) has an interesting line-up of topics on its March programme.

On Friday 17 March at 10:30, Part 3 of Case Rijsdijk's astronomy course will deal with "Cosmic Rulers" (not the Darth Vader type!), looking at methods astronomers use to measure the distance to stars and galaxies.
On Monday 20 March the Digiclub will look at sports. Visitors are welcome to attend Digiclub meetings as a visitor at any time, at an entrance fee of R20 if you are not a member of the U3A. Members pay R10.
This group meets at 14:00. Contact Roza Barnes at rozabarnes@gmail.com to join the Digiclub.
The lecture on Friday 24 March, "A bright woman of DNA – Rosalind Franklin", will be delivered by Doc Ian Caldwell. Tea is at 10:00 and the lecture starts at 10:30.
On Monday 27 March, Case Rijsdijk will lead another session of International Affairs starting at 14:00.
