GEORGE NEWS - Two people were killed in unrelated incidents in Thembalethu over the weekend. The first incident took place in Silver Town, Zone 6, on Sunday 12 February, when a 20-year-old man became the victim of an alleged mob justice attack.
According to Western Cape police media liaison officer Capt Frederick van Wyk, two men and a woman took the victim away from his home and beat him to death after he allegedly stole from them.
The suspects have been arrested and are scheduled to appear in court later today, Thursday 16 February.
In the early hours of Monday 13 February, police attended a crime scene in Ramaphosa, Zone 6, where a man who was on his way home from a night out, was stabbed to death shortly before.
The incident occurred in Empolweni Street. The victim sustained a stab wound to the chest and died on the scene. A suspect was arrested later that day and appeared in the George Magistrate's Court on a charge of murder.
By the time of going to print no details of his court appearance could be confirmed.
