GEORGE NEWS FLASH - The murder trial of local taxi owner, Tom Queba (47) will start in the Circuit High Court in George on 26 October and will proceed until 20 November.
Queba, a chief negotiator for the taxi industry regarding the GO GEORGE bus service, was shot in the head inside his minibus taxi on 25 May 2014 on the N2 highway near Thembalethu.
His alleged shooter, Zanemale Laho (32), from Thembalethu, was arrested in June last year.
Laho faces charges of murder, theft, and possession of a firearm and ammunition.
He is currently serving a 15 year prison sentence for another murder that occurred in 2011.
