GEORGE NEWS - The George Herald will be taking part in the national Tekkie Tax Day on 30 May, which is held countrywide to raise money for a number of well-known welfare organisations aimed at addressing the needs of various sections of society.

To participate, the public can buy a sticker for R10 and, if you wish to donate more, there are also funky neon orange or neon green shoelaces ('Tekkie Tags') for R30 and neon orange or neon green golf shirts for R110 to wear on Tekkie Tax Day to show your support.

Tickets are available at the the York Street office of the George Herald as well as at the Group Editors printing offices in Ring Road, George Industria.

Choose your beneficiary
There are five different sectors of welfare organisations to choose from. Decide which one (or more) lies closest to your heart and obtain a sticker that represents that group. The different sectors you can donate to are:

• Animals
• Basic family care
• Children
• Disability
• Education

Wear your sticker on your T-shirt, wedding gown or your designer suit - whatever you will be wearing on 30 May - and display the mini sticker on your cellphone for the rest of the year. Only then will you have permission to wear your tekkies.
