GEORGE NEWS - The teenage boy from Lawaaikamp who was seriously injured during a robbery last week, died on Valentine's Day. 

Sinovuyo Betsha (15) of Ncamazana Street was allegedly assaulted with pangas by a group of boys who robbed him of his Adidas takkies and K-Way hoody.

The incident occurred between Saturday night, 10 February and Sunday morning, 11 February, in Dick Street, Zone 9 in Thembalethu.

Sinovuyo sustained serious injuries to his upper body and was taken to hospital, where he passed away on 14 February.

Police confirmed this week that they had arrested a 16-year-old suspect in connection with the murder. 

The suspect appeared in the George Magistrate's Court last Thursday, 15 February, and the case was postponed to 16 March. 

He remains in custody at a juvenile facility in Eerste River, Cape Town.
