GEORGE NEWS AND VIDEO - The situation is still tense after local taxi drivers gathered at the GO GEORGE bus depot in York Street this morning.
According to a member of the Public order policing unit (Pops), taxi owners were informed that impounding fees must be paid before impounded taxis are released.
He added that unlawful actions won't be tolerated.
Taxi leaders are now consulting with members of the taxi associations.
Taxi bosses are now singing and dancing in front of the GO GEORGE depot as they wait for their impounded taxis to be released.
Authorities have given them half an hour to disperse peacefully.
