GEORGE NEWS - Approximately 200 Nelson Mandela University (NMU) students are blocking the entrance to the NMU George Campus.
A memorandum was handed to management.
The students are demanding that they receive their National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) allowances for food, books and accommodation. They acknowledge there are administration problems with NSFAS nationally.
The university will issue a statement once they received the go-ahead from Port Elizabeth.
Lectures are on hold.
The students didn't permit the George Herald to take photos and videos.
Updates on the situation will follow as it develops.
