GEORGE NEWSFLASH - A prominent businesswoman from Wilderness had allegedly been followed by three people for approximately half an hour before she was robbed at the Garden Route Mall on Monday morning 26 February.
“From CCTV footage we can see that they followed me out of Absa and drove behind me to the parking area at Game.
"There they approached my car, but the parking area was probably too busy for their liking so they continued to follow me to Deeghuys by car.
"That's where they smashed my window and grabbed R8 000 that I had withdrawn for my business,” the victim told the George Herald.
The thieves also made off with her handbag and cellphone.
“It’s unbelievable. They followed me for about a half an hour without me realizing anything.
"I popped into Deeghuys for five minutes and when I came back my car had been broken into,” she said.
Southern Cape police spokesperson Captain Malcolm Pojie confirmed the incident.
“No one has been arrested yet, but if anyone has information regarding the theft they can phone the investigating officer, Sergeant R du Plooy, at the Conville police station on 044 803 3302 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.”
