GEORGE NEWS - Local Olympic medalist, Bianca Buitendag is challenging readers to a 21-hour sleep-over at the Garden Route SPCA (GRSPCA) with either a dog or cat from its kennels as a companion.
The event, planned for Saturday 6 November from 12:00 onwards, is a fundraiser in support of the GRSPCA's project to sterilise 2021 animals.
The average cost of a sterilisation is R400.
"Our committee and staff at the GRSPCA are committed to improve the lives of our friends of the animal kingdom," says GRSPCA's Rika Bouwer. "It is also the opportune time to meet the champion who also understands the need to speak for the voiceless."
Pitch your own tent at R150 per person or sleep in one of the kennels for R299.
Businesses that want to join can send five staff members at R1 299 per night for exclusive accommodation.
The fee includes delicious potjiekos that will be served on Saturday night at 18:00. Breakfast will be available at R50 per person the next morning.
"Remember to bring your own snacks and bedding and don’t forget about the four-legged friends at our kennels. We are looking forward to spending some time with you on this adventure," says Bouwer.
Bookings can be made directly by phoning 082 308 6862 or sending an e-mail to fundraising@grspca.co.za.
