GARDEN ROUTE NEWS & VIDEO - Spearheaded by the Garden Route District Municipality Council (GRDM) and private sector partners, the Royal Garden Route Outreach Initiative ended on a high note on Sunday in Mossel Bay after six days of crisscrossing most of the Garden Route and Klein Karoo.
In a series of events and meetings aimed at connecting with the regional hospitality industry, councillors and affected parties in the hospitality industry met up with some 40 business managers and owners throughout the region, following a tourist-friendly route dubbed the Blue Sky Route.
The Garden Route is set to experience a bumper festive season after two years of lockdown hardship that had a devastating effect on the regional tourism value chain.
The Garden Route role players are determined to become a world-renowned stand-alone destination, and the value it offers in terms of its remarkable natural scenery, hospitality infrastructure and high standard of services has created a platform for growth.
Royal Garden Route was spearheaded by GRDM councillors Cobus Meiring and Coenraad Swart. They are sincerely grateful to all sponsors in the regional private sector.
