GEORGE NEWS - Rosemoor residents showed that they've had enough of crime in their area when they joined a peaceful march by the newly formed organisation Rosemoor Staan Saam (RSS) last Sunday, 19 July.
According to Hein Scheepers, who is assisting them with communications, RSS is not a neighbourhood watch, but rather a group of community members and activists who want to eradicate crime in the area and assist the neighbourhood watch.
"We've had it with the crime in our community. This is the reason we started the movement," said Scheepers.
Residents are sick and tired of the increasing crime in Rosemoor and want to take back the streets.Scheepers, together with other members of RSS and Mongi Louw, who is known for his safety and security initiatives in the area, introduced RSS to the community during a rally on Wednesday 15 July.
During their first patrols this weekend already a number of dangerous weapons were confiscated and handed to the police.
