GEORGE NEWS - Henry Jansen, known as Boeta Hen, has retired from the Garden Route District Municipality after 30 years of service.
He started working there in 1992 at age 26 when it was still known as the Regional Services Council.
He has worked under various managers at the municipality's Hessequa sub-office. He received his 30-year certificate from GRDM Mayor Memory Booysen.
Chief of municipal health, Haemish Herwels, had the following to say about Jansen: "As an individual, Jansen played a huge role in my life. He has always been the sound one in the office, always the same person. His work ethic has always been admired. I want to congratulate him on his milestone of 30 years of service, and I wish him all the best with his retirement."
