GEORGE NEWS - In joining the fight against animal cruelty and the plight of neglected animals, Althi de Villiers from Brain Gain Garden Route, is selling raffle tickets in aid of Oudtshoorn Dogs in Need (Odin) in Blanco.
"Odin is a non profit organisation. Colleen Smith and her team go out of their way to rescue, treat, rehabilitate and rehome abused and neglected animals. They educate the owners and arrange sterilizations which they pay for themselves.
"All funds will be used to buy supplies for Odin to improve their kennels and contribute to them continuing to do the work they do for the animals in our area," says de Villiers.
Donate for tickets
Realising that some businesses are tired of people asking for donations, de Villiers came up with a plan. "I am willing to give raffle tickets in return for donated items. The number of tickets will determine on the donation." Tickets are also on sale at R150 each.
Amongst other things Odin is desperately in need of wooden poles, fencing, cement, planks, shade netting, roofing materials, blankets and puppy and kitten toys and food.
Prizes include a four ball (carts included) at Kingswood Golf Course, a game drive at Garden Route Game Lodge and a photoshoot by Bonita Photography.
Prizes are valued at R2 500 - R3 500 each and ticket sales will end when 100 tickets have been sold.
For more information about the raffle, contact de Villiers on 076 486 4632.
