GEORGE NEWS -The main drinking water reservoirs remain critically low.
This follows the repair to a valve damaged as a result of load shedding yesterday.
The Old Water Treatment Works which purifies about 18Ml water per day was not operational during the repair, resulting in the level of the reservoirs which store drinking water becoming critically low.
The public is reminded of the water restrictions implemented and an urgent appeal is made to all residents to comply.
Measures have now been put in place to reduce flow and force a reduction in water consumption.
