Living by their motto of 'Helping People See Better', Project Cat-Eye reaches out to areas that do not have access to primary eye care or that cannot afford it. Not only do they test eyes and give out spectacles, but they also distribute sunglasses and readymade readers. Project Cat-Eye's aim is to alleviate the burden of poor vision and eye care related problems in people's lives.
On 30 June Werner Fourie Optometrists and the EcoBound team went to a remote village in the Baviaanskloof. Project Cat-Eye handed out sunglasses and readers, tested eyes and made spectacles for those in need. "One elderly lady was able to read her Bible for the first time in over 20 years," said Werner after he tested her eyes.
With your generous donations and warm hearted support, they are able to assist people in need. If you would like to get involved with PCE, please contact them at 044 873 4888.
You can also donate your old spectacles at The Eyewear Boutique™ at Werner Fourie Optometrists, C/O Courtenay & Wellington street, George. PCE would like to thank One Sight, Nissan George, SAOA and the EcoBound team for making the Baviaans' outreach possible.
