GEORGE NEWS - George Herald has just received information that at least three prisoners escaped from custody this afternoon.
According to the information, the prisoners were being transported between George and Mossel Bay when they escaped from the vehicle along the N2 highway.
Kristy Kolberg, who is on the scene, reports that there is a heavy police presence on the highway.
Captain Malcolm Pojie, the Southern Cape police spokesperson, confirmed the incident but said very little information is available at this stage. “Our members are on the scene. One escapee has been found, and the others are still being sought,” said Pojie.
