GEORGE NEWS - This year, on the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Mediclinic, we celebrate International Nurses Day with the theme "Care goes further than you think", which aims to acknowledge and thank each nurse who has chosen a career of caring for others.
Every year, Mediclinic takes a special day out to recognise our nurses and their amazing contribution to delivering the best possible care for our patients and the vital role our nurses play inside our hospitals and in their communities.
As is tradition, colleagues within each Mediclinic locality select a Nursing Excellence Award winner, nominated by their peers in recognition of their selfless work that stands out above others.
Mediclinic George and Geneva are pleased to announce our Nursing Excellence Award winner: professional nurse Andrea Moss, who has been working at Mediclinic George since 1 September 2013 in our Critical Care Unit. Andrea's colleagues describe her as being loyal, a good mentor, always professional and she renders a high standard of nursing to her patients.
We congratulate all the nominees, who were identified by their colleagues for their outstanding demonstration of expertise and care. We celebrate each and every nurse on International Nurses Day.
Every patient has a family and a circle of friends or colleagues who value them, and who trust us to deliver excellence and expertise to the individual. By caring for our patients, our nurses ensure that each patient can return home to their role as mother, father, sibling, colleague or friend.
According to a 2022 Gallup survey, nursing has been globally regarded as one of the most trusted professions for more than 20 years, followed by doctors and pharmacists.
We recognise that our community places its trust in us each time they enter our hospitals or day clinics.
