GEORGE NEWS - The inaugural Mr and Miss Odin Valentine was held at the Oudtshoorn Dogs in Need (Odin) premises at Tantivvey in Blanco on Saturday 13 February.
"What a day!" said an elated Colleen Smith, Odin's chairperson. "Within two weeks the amazing Karen Gray of Crawlers & Crowns Model Academy organised this fabulous event. Going forward this will definitely be an annual event here at Odin. Thank you to everyone who attended. We all had fun, but our dogs had the most fun of all."
Besides a small entry fee, every entrant was asked to donate a bag of dog or cat food for the animals in Odin's care. As a non-profit organisation, Odin depends on donations from the public to keep them afloat.
Like many other places, Covid-19 has impacted them severely and they are in constant need of food, blankets, medical supplies and money to pay the ever-increasing vet bills.
