GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - Mossel Bay municipal manager, Advocate Thys Giliomee, has been suspended with full payment.
This follows his being placed on special leave after serious allegations of alleged sexual misconduct.
In a statement the municipality noted that the decision to suspend Giliomee was taken on 11 June during a special council meeting.
The statement reads: "Advocate Thys Giliomee shall be suspended with full payment per prescribed legislation until the finding and sanction from the presiding officer in the matter are communicated to the municipality, after completion of the disciplinary proceedings."
The municipality said the disciplinary hearing has to commence within three months of the council's decision.
