GEORGE NEWS - National Minister of Human Settlements, Nomaindiya Mfeketo and Western Cape MEC Bonginkosi Madikizela, visited Thembalethu today as part of a national housing department tour of the Garden Route.
During the tour, they are visiting towns that were affected by the recent service delivery protests in the region in Knysna, Plettenberg Bay and George to address a number of housing issues.
The two ministers held a community imbizo at New Horizon township in Plettenberg Bay and handed over a house to Nokwakha Msebenzi (80) in Knysna.
Msebenzi’s house burned down during last year's Knysna fires.
This morning, the two ministers, accompanied by George Mayor Melvin Naik, visited one of the newly-built housing developments in Asazani, Thembalethu.
