GEORGE NEWS - A safety workshop, under the leadership of Minister Dan Plato, was held at the police's Eden Cluster building in Heatherlands earlier today (Saturday 1 September).
A team from the Directorate for Community Police combined the programme with the Western Cape Government Community Safety's office.
The Eden Cluster Commander, Major-General Oswald Reddy, Eden District Municipality Disaster Management, Cluster CPF chairperson, station commanders, Vispol heads, public relations officers, VEP Coordinators, CPFs and members of neighbourhood watches attended the workshop.
The functions of the CPFs, reviews and changes proposed in the Police Act to ensure the CPF becoming more functioned and the CPF's sustainability as well as how they can become more relevant were among the topics discussed.
