GEORGE NEWS - A special birthday party was held at Lyttelton Frail Care Centre to celebrate the 101st birthday of Guil (Guiletta) Wepener who was born 10 December 1917 in Volksrust.
Her daughter Maryke Byron and her husband came from Botswana to celebrate this special milestone with her.
Guil and her husband Marais moved from the then Northern Rhodesia to George in 1977.
Marais died 10 years ago in 2007. Guil, an artist and gardener, loves shells and her impressive collection is on display at the Mossel Bay Museum.
Guil has two daughters, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
