GEORGE NEWS - Community members of Le Vallia and Protea Park are invited to gather at the Rosemoor Civic Centre in Woltemade Street on 7 February to discuss grievances regarding the spate of crime in the area.
According to community members, they have demanded a meeting with their ward councillor and Conville police to address the issues.
Complaints include a recent spate of cable theft, break-ins and other more serious crimes.
"The situation in our communities is dire and as citizens of George we fear for our safety. Every day we experience a break-in or theft, and the most recent spate of cable theft has left us without electricity. We as community need intervention," said a resident, Delene Pillay.
The meeting will start at 18:30 for 19:00.
For more information, please contact Pillay on 082 960 7783 or Avera Kortje on 083 294 4637.
