GEORGE NEWS - The Kaalvoet Mzanzi Foundation gives hope to children in the form of shoe donations and motivation. Anele Ngoyo of the foundation says in the year and eight months they have existed, they have handed out shoes on four occasions already. The latest donation was on 11 February.
Ngoyo says they also do motivational talks at schools about self-worth and the importance of education. "We recently spoke to children at Pacaltsdorp Primary School and Kretzenhoop Primary. Our children battle with inferior complexes, which makes the talk about self-worth so important."
The foundation also donated 50 pairs of shoes to each of St Mary's Primary and Rosemoor Primary schools and about 39 pairs to Kretzenshoop Primary, with the help of Blaine Smith.
"It's not about shoes, it's about laying the foundation for a better tomorrow for the children," Anele says. He concentrates on education because he believes this is the best channel to make an impact.
"Education changed my life, and some believed in me when I didn't believe in myself and helped me out when things were limited."
He shows his appreciation to those who helped whenever an opportunity presents itself. "That's another way of showing them that I appreciate them for what they did for me".
Ngoyo stands for values like respecting his culture, upholding his heritage, preaching education and change, living entrepreneurship, leading young people, living his passion and having respect.
"If you are humble, focused and have a good work ethic, you can move mountains."
Children at Kretzenhoop Primary school are very happy about their shoes.
