GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - The scenic Hoekwil Village will this coming weekend, Saturday 20 October and Sunday 21 October, once again be presenting the splendour of this rural hamlet, in 11 gardens, which will be open to the public between 9am to 4pm on both days.
The gardens offer a wonderful variety of plants, some of which are unique to the area, and all of the gardens have stunning mountain, lake and/or sea views. From humble beginnings, this year’s event will be the sixth time Hoekwil has presented its superb selection of Open Gardens.
The previous event attracted in excess of 400 visitors from throughout the Garden Route, with even more visitors expected this coming weekend.
Two local nurseries are involved and refreshments will be available from the coffee shops in the village. Tickets for entry cost R50 per person (children free) and are available, with route maps, on both days from the kiosk at the Hoekwil Post Office. Ticket holders will be allowed access to all 11 gardens, throughout the weekend, between 09:00 and 16:00.
