GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - The Rooiberg Mountain wildfire is still active.

The wildfire has three (3) active flanks.

Southern flank
The wildfire is currently burning south of Wolwekop, moving west to the Greens property which is about 1.6km away. The fire line is still high up in the Opzoek kloof and posing no threat to infrastructure.

Northen flank
A part of the fireline that was burning towards the spekboom buffer zone has self extinguished. The active part has moved higher up on a ridge and is about 2.8km from Rooiberg Wild Guesthouse.

Wester flank and head of the wildfire
The fireline is actively burning westward high up in the mountain and currently poses no threat to the infrastructure of Greens Farmstead.

CapeNature has 15 crew and 3 skid units at the scene.

GRDM firefighters remain on standby to assist if the fire spirals out of control.

Roleplayers include GRDM Fire Services and CapeNature.
