GEORGE NEWS - A tip-off from the community led to the arrest of two suspects, aged 29 and 32, on drug-related charges in Thembalethu on Wednesday 6 July.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson, Sgt Chris Spies, members of the Eden Cluster crime combatting team and rural flying squad responded to information about drug activities taking place at a house on Nelson Mandela Boulevard.
During a search of the premises, 100 Mandrax tablets, 10g of tik and one 9mm round ammunition were confiscated and the suspects were arrested on charges of possession of drugs and unlawful possession of ammunition.
In an unrelated incident on the same day, two suspects, aged 40 and 44, were arrested in their vehicle at the foot of the Outeniqua Pass by members of the rural flying squad who were patrolling the area.
The vehicle was searched and 40 Mandrax tablets were found. The suspects are both facing charges of possession of drugs.
All the suspects are scheduled to appear in the George Magistrate's Court early this week.
