GEORGE NEWS - The George police station recently received a Feather Award for the best security service provider at George Airport. The awards evening, presented by Airports Company of South Africa (Acsa), was held on
23 November. According to George communications officer Sgt Michael Opperman, George Airport was recently declared the safest airport with an annual passenger turnover of under one million passengers.
The police service was recognised as being an integral part of the security structure at the airport. "This is truly a feather in the cap for the George police. Many members and units played their part in achieving this success," Opperman said.
