Update
GEORGE NEWS - Two people in their 20s tragically died when a VW Jetta carrying four people, and a Ford Ranger bakkie were involved in a head-on collision on Sunday evening, 11 June.
According to unconfirmed information, the bakkie, with only the driver, was travelling towards Blanco from the direction of the airport when it collided with the Jetta in the oncoming lane around a bend on the R404.
The driver of the Jetta was driving in the direction of the airport towards the stop street at the airport crossing where the R404 and R102 meet.
The accident allegedly happened before the Jetta reached the airport crossing. On arrival, police found three occupants with serious injuries.
A 25-year-old man, Xolisa Yake, who was a passenger in the front of the Jetta, was declared dead on the scene by paramedics. Another victim, who has not yet been identified, succumbed to his injuries in hospital on Monday 12 June.
A third passenger from the Jetta is still in a serious condition in hospital.

The driver of the Ranger did not sustain any serious injuries.
George Herald reached out to Yake's family who prefer not to give any comment at this stage. Southern Cape police spokesperson Sgt Chris Spies said circumstances surrounding the accident are under investigation.
Xolisa Yake (25) was a keen soccer player and a finalist at the 2019 Eden Sport Awards.
Pedestrian dies in hit-and-run
In an unrelated incident, a pedestrian was knocked over by a minibus taxi near the Gwaiing bridge on the N2 on Saturday 10 June at about 21:00.
"Information available indicates that police were summoned to the scene and on arrival found the victim who sustained multiple injuries. Paramedics later declared him dead on scene," said Spies.
It is believed that the Toyota Quantum was en route to Mossel Bay at the time of the incident. The identity of the deceased is yet to be established.
