GEORGE NEWS - George Municipality’s Cleansing team together with other government stakeholders will be holding a Big Cleanup Project from Monday to Wednesday 19 - 21 September, from 09:00 - 13:00 each day, in celebration and to raise awareness of World Cleanup Day.
According to Grace Notshokovu from the Cleansing department, an education/ awareness campaign will also be part of the project.
World Cleanup Day unites millions of volunteers, governments and organisations in 191 countries to tackle the global waste problem and build up the new and sustainable world.
The day is held over the course of a 24-hour period, on the third Saturday of September annually.
